Michigan Department of Health & Human Services
The State of Michigan’s Child Support program is designed to ensure that children receive the financial and emotional support they need to thrive. Administered by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) in partnership with local Friend of the Court offices and prosecuting attorneys, the program promotes the well-being of children by increasing parental involvement, reducing reliance on public assistance, and strengthening family self-sufficiency through fair and efficient child support enforcement.
To advance these goals, the State partnered with Diona to introduce a native mobile self-service solution—MiChildSupport—based on Diona Child Support, that enables even more families to apply for services, access their case information, and interact with the program through their mobile devices.
The mobile solution complements the State’s existing MiChildSupport website by extending key self-service features into a more accessible and user-friendly format for on-the-go users. While the website offers comprehensive tools for managing cases, making payments, and accessing program information, the mobile app enhances the experience with streamlined access and an intuitive interface optimized for smartphones. It maintains continuity of service by integrating with the same backend systems, allowing users to transition seamlessly between desktop and mobile without losing functionality or context. Together, the mobile app and website form a cohesive digital ecosystem that broadens access, improves convenience, and supports a wider range of user needs and preferences.
